Manifesto
The internet built a billion-user peer-to-peer marketplace ecosystem — Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Mercari, OfferUp, Craigslist, Poshmark, Etsy — and then forgot to build the trust layer underneath it.
So here’s what the average person actually faces today when they want to buy or sell something used:
The marketplaces won’t fix this. They can’t fix this — not the cross-marketplace part. eBay is never going to help you find a better deal on Mercari. Facebook is never going to forward your inquiry to Craigslist. They’re competitors. The fragmentation is the business model.
So we’re building the layer they won’t.
Dealybee is not a marketplace. We don’t take inventory, set prices, or compete with anyone’s listings. We sit on top of all of them. Your buying agent searches every marketplace at once. Your selling agent posts to every marketplace at once. Every transaction escrows. Every dispute goes to a human. Your reputation moves with you.
We’re betting on three things that the rest of the industry hasn’t internalized yet:
Agent commerce is the next interface.
When you can describe what you want in one sentence and have an agent do the work, you stop tolerating the seven-tab dance. People already accept this for travel (Booking) and food (DoorDash). P2P is next — and the agent layer has to be neutral across marketplaces or it’s just another walled garden.
Trust is the moat, not the feature.
Escrow + portable reputation + human dispute mediation aren’t add-ons. They’re the entire reason the layer is worth building. We don’t charge for escrow. We don’t fragment users into “protected” and “unprotected” tiers. The trust posture is universal or it’s nothing.
Pricing should be unembarrassing.
Free for buyers, always. Free for sellers under $100. 1% over $100. That’s the whole pricing page. No listing fees. No payment processing markup. No premium tier that locks you out of safety. If we ever need to charge more, we’ll do it for something obvious — not by sneaking it into a markup.
We’re a small team, building in the open. The product runs end-to-end today. The marketplace integrations are rolling out one adapter at a time. We’d rather ship the obvious thing well than the impressive thing badly.
If you’ve ever sold something on Facebook Marketplace and felt your shoulders tense the moment a stranger said “I’ll take it” — this is for you.
